England’s World Cup-winning captain Eoin Morgan bids farewell to international cricket at the age of 35 due to his poor form.
Eoin has played his international cricket for both Ireland and England. Later he captained the English side. Not only that but he also won the World Cup in 2019. But his form was not quite good for the last two years.
He played 248 ODIs in which he scored 7701 with an average of 39.1. In T20Is he scored with an average of 28.6 along with a healthy strike rate of 136.2. But he couldn’t represent his country in the longest format for a long time. He played only 16 matches in which he made 700 runs with an average of 30. Eoin also captained Kolkata Knight Riders in 2021 and took them to the finals but couldn’t score many runs.
For the last two years, he wasn’t getting runs. Some experts have the opinion that for lack of run his self-confidence has gone to the bottom and for that he took retirement. Though as a captain Eoin achieved much success as a batsman, he could have done much better according to his potential but farewell to Eoin Morgan. English cricket will always remember him as their world cup-winning captain.
