Former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri finally opens up on the early exit of team India from the T20 WC,2021.
T20 WC,2021 was the last assignment of Ravi Shastri as the head coach of team India but he couldn’t finish his innings well as the Indian team had to exit from the group stage as a result of consecutive defeats by Pakistan and New Zealand.
Shastri said that India must continue with their ultra-aggressive approach with the bat in the shortest format after being ‘timid’ in the past.
India’s conservative approach at the start of the innings was criticized before too. After Rohit Sharma had taken the charge, he tried to change the mindset of the team.
In a press conference organized by Star Sports, Shastri said, “They should not change the approach (they have shown of late). Even when I was coach we discussed we were a bit timid at the top considering the players we had down the order.”
“It is the right approach. You will lose a few games in between but if you start winning with this approach you can take that confidence in big games and use the same tactics”, the former head coach of team India added.
The Blues will be in action in the Asia Cup just ahead of the T20 WC. Star batter Virat Kohli and captain Rohit Sharma will make their comeback in the squad after taking break.
It has been a long time since India have lifted an ICC Trophy. Millions of fans are waiting whether the new captain of team India can change the fate of the team with his champion’s luck or will it be another long year wait for all of them.
