Washington Sundar impressed everyone with his all-round performance in first T20.
In the opening match of T20 series between India & New Zealand in Ranchi, the latter thrashed the former and took 1-0 lead in the series. However, 23-year-old Sundar put up a good fight and endeavoured to help India get over the line but eventually India lost the game.
Sundar smacked fifty in just 25 balls but India fell short of 22 runs. In the first innings, Sundar was terrific with the ball as he scalped 2 wickets giving just 22 runs in 4 overs. Apart from batting & fielding, Sundar showed his skills in fielding too.
In the 5th over, Sundar bowled a tossed-up delivery to Chapman. Champan could not read it well and gave catch in the hands of Sundar. Sundar flew on his right side to grab the ball and hence pulled off an extraordinary catch.
