Team India defeated Hong Kong by 40 runs and assured their place in the Super 4 of Asia Cup 2022. Team India will now face the 2nd team of Group A on 4th September 2022. It almost looks like that India and Pakistan will face each other again on upcoming sunday.
Hongkong won the toss and put india to bat. Team India struggled untill the dismissal of KL Rahul, because afterwards Suryakumar Yadav had his own plans. He played an unbelievable knock and built a great partnership with Virat Kohli. Team India scored 192 runs in their 20 overs and it was almost certain that Team India will manage to defend this score.
Team India’s young pacers looked out of touch against Hong Kong and gave a huge amount of runs. Arshdeep Singh bowled 2 No Balls as well and gave 44 runs in his quota of 4 overs. While Avesh Khan proved to be more expensive than him and gave 53 runs in 4 overs.
Team India had only 5 bowling options against Hong Kong as Hardik Pandya was rested and it was the poor performance of pacers which forced Rohit Sharma to give ball to Virat Kohli who generally don’t ball. It was the 17th over of the innings and everyone was surprised to see Virat Kohli bowling for team India. He bowled one over and gave just 6 runs which was not bad at all.
