Rishabh Pant came out of his lean patch and smashed a marvelous half-century on the 1st day of the 5th Test match against England.
England captain Ben Stokes won the toss and opted to bowl first. England bowlers did an outstanding job and dismissed 5 batters of India including the key wicket of Virat Kohli within 100 runs

But wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant came to the rescue along with all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. At this point after 43 overs, Jadeja is on individual 32 runs while Rishabh has completed his half-century. Both have played some eye-catching strokes all around the park. As usual, Rishabh took the attacking role. One of his cover drives against Stuart Broad will be remembered by all the spectators.
But the worst affected by the Pant storm was English spinner, Jack Leach. Pant took on Leach whenever he came to bowl. Rishabh smashed 4,4,6 against Leach in successive three deliveries in an over. First, he played down the ground for four and forced Leach to shorten his length. Pant was ready for it and sent that too for four and last but not least, he came out of his crease and hit the ball straight over the bowler’s head for six.
He also completed his fifty by hitting a boundary on Leach’s delivery.
Both the batter would surely look up to progress the partnership and take India to a commendable position.
