Nellai Royal King’s Baba Aparajith and Chepauk Super Gilies’s N Jagdeeshan engaged in a heated exchange in the first match of TNPL,2022.
Both teams started their tournament with a match against each other on Thursday, 23rd June.
Jagdeeshan opened the innings for CSG to chase down NRK’s 185 runs. On the 3rd ball of the 3rd over the Chennai Super Kings player was a foot ahead of the crease before the bowl was delivered and Baba Aparajith dislodged his bails.
Jagdeeshan left furious with this and started towards the pavilion. He didn’t wait for the replay. But the situation got worse when the batter showed the middle finger multiple times to his state team-mate while returning to the pavilion. He got out in 25 in 14 deliveries.
Fans were left furious with this behaviour of Jagdeeshan. They slammed the CSK batter over social media and want BCCI to take strict action against him.
The mode of Mankad has always been a debatable topic of cricket, whether it should be allowed or not. Many players have supported it while others didn’t.
Eventually, the game got a nail-biting end and got into super over with the brilliance of S Harish Kumar (26* of 12).
But the Jagdeeshan – Aparajit clash came above all of this and remind BCCI that it’s high time for them to take a strict decision regarding the mode of Mankad.
