Watch Video: Bumrah smashed 35 runs in an over to Stuart Broad
Jasprit Bumrah shines at Edgbaston but this time with the bat. Horrific over from Stuart Broad where Bumrah smashed him for 35 runs in the over. It’s the biggest over in Test Cricket history. The vibes of Yuvraj Singh’s six sixes against Stuart Board came back to every cricket fan.
On the first ball Broad hits a bouncer that clipped Bumrah’s gloves and went for four with the help of Zak Crawley’s catch miss. On second ball Broad’s bouncer flew over keeper’s raised arms for four. Bumrah hit Broad’s third ball for a six. But due to more than two bouncers, the third ball was called a no ball.
The in charge captain of India didn’t stop here. The yorker of Broad missed from its length and became a juicy full toss for Bumrah which he smacks over long on for four.
As they say fortune favours the brave, the next ball was gone also for four but not convincingly. Jassi wanted to slog it over mid wicket but the ball could only find the inner edge of bat and went for four on the fine leg boundary. With this boundary India’s score passed over 400.
There was no way Broad could find to stop Bumrah at the moment. He tried over the wicket, round the wicket everything but nothing worked and Bumrah smashed the next two balls for a boundary and a six respectively. And on the last ball he took a single to keep strike. With this the spectators witnessed the biggest over in Test Cricket history that was of 35 runs.
Earlier Ravindra Jadeja completed his century. And with Bumrah’s cameo India reached to a massive total against the host in the historic test match.
Now it’s upto the bowlers to restrict England in a small total and gain a huge lead and put them back into pressure.
