Saurashtra bowler Jaydev Unadkat equalised a 88-year old record.
In the Ranji Trophy Elite Group ‘B’ match in Rajkot, between Saurashtra and Delhi, former’s captain Jaydev Unadkat created history by becoming the first bowler to scalp a hat-trick in first over of Ranji Trophy match in 88 years. Owing to exquisite spell of Unadkat, Delhi’s innings bundled out for 133.
Unadkat picked 8 wickets in the innings and his first wicket came in the form of Dhruv Shorey on pitching-in delivery. Left-handed batter Vaibhav Rawal was Unadkat’s second wicket who edged an outswinger to be caught behind.
The Third wicket which helped Jaydev Unadkat in making history was of Yash Dhull who was trapped in front by an inswinging delivery. In response, Saurashtra scored 184/1 on the first day owing to Harvik Desai’s unbeaten 104-run.
