Marais Erasmus was caught in an unusual situation during South Africa vs England game.
During first ODI between South Africa & England at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein on Friday, January 27, on field umpire Marais Erasmus missed out a delivery unknowingly. The incident occurred in the 24th over of England’s innings when Jason Roy was batting.
South African pacer bowled a short length delivery to Jason Roy, on which Roy played a cut shot but Marais Erasmus who was stationed at square leg was busy with something else and completely missed the delivery. He came to know about the delivery when he heard Roy’s bat sound when he hit the shot.
Talking about the game, South Africa thrashed England in the first ODI by 27 runs. Van der Dussen smacked a stunning hundred and helped Proteas reach 298-run mark. While chasing, England bundled out for 271 despite outstanding century from opener Jason Roy.
