England took on South Africa in the second ODI clash and we got to see a fascinating battle between Liam Livingstone and Anrich Nortje in the 21st over.
Captain Keshav Maharaj after winning the toss invited the hosts to bat first. The match was reduced to 29 overs per side due to rain interruption. England could not start off well. They had lost 6 of their wickets on 101 runs inside 18 runs. But the most thrilling moment was witnessed 3 overs later, when Nortje came to bowl.
On the first delivery of 21st over, Livingstone smashed the ball for a six towards deep square leg. On the second delivery, Nortje bowled 145kmph short ball but Liam dispatched it for a six again. On the fuller length ball of the 3rd delivery, Livingstone hit a six towards backward square leg. On the 4th one, Livingstone edged the ball and it flies above the keeper’s head and went for a six.

On the 5th delivery, Nortje bowled a back-of-the-hand slower bouncer, Livingstone who was looking in full mood, kept swinging the bat likewise but at this time he played the short early and gave catch to Miller at the mid-wicket. Livingstone returned back to pavilion after slamming 38 runs off 26 deliveries.

Meanwhile, England’s inning bundled out for 201 in 28.1 overs. Livingstone (36) and Curran (35) remained the top scorers in the English side. Besides, Dwaine Pretorious shinned in the bowling department. He dismantled England’s middle order and brought them on backfoot picking 4w-haul.
