Virat Kohli & Shubman Gill were India’s hero in the final ODI against Sri Lanka.
Both the batters notched up centuries and help India post a colossal total of 390 runs on the score board. Shubman Gill scored his second ODI hundred and amassed 116 runs before departure. Virat Kohli slammed his third ODI hundred in last 4 innings and remained unbeaten on the score of 166.
Owing to their hundreds, India registered the biggest ever win by run margin in ODI cricket as they defeated Sri Lanka by 317 runs. After the game, player of the match Kohli & Shubman Gill had a good chat. Kohli asked Gill to share the thought about his century.
Gill replied that he could not score big after a good start in the first two games so he decided to go big this time. He added that Virat told him on the field that it was his day to go big and Virat changing the rhythm of the game helped him.
Furthermore Virat introduced the throwdown specialists Raghu, Nuwan, who is from Sri Lanka, and Daya. Kohli commended and talked about the contributions made by Raghu in bowling during nets.
“All three of them have given us world-class practice every time we play. They challenge us in the nets like anyone 145 or 150 kmph pace bowlers. They always try to get us out and make sure that they test us regularly,” said Kohli.
“At times, it feels very intense. For me that has been the difference in my career to be very honest. From where I was as a cricketer before I started getting this kind of practice to where I am today.
“A lot of credit has go to these guys, who have given us practice regularly and their contribution has been unbelievable. You guys should remember their names and faces because, behind our success, a lot of effort has been put in by these guys,” kohli added.
