Shubman Gill feels Virat Kohli is the best captain he has played under.
Virat Kohli is regarded as one of the best test captains of all time. India have won most number of overseas games under Virat Kohli in test cricket including Border-Gavaskar Trophy win in 2018. Kohli took over captaincy from MS Dhoni back in 2014 and brought India from 7th to 1st position.
India has played 68 games under Virat Kohli in tests in which they have won 40 of them. In a talk show when Shubman Gill was asked to pick the best captain among Kohli, Dhoni, Hardik & Rohit. Shubman Gill replied that he has not played a single game under Dhoni so he would pick Virat Kohli.
Gill made test debut under Virat Kohli in December, 2020 against Australia and he is known for his classy 91-run knock. In ODIs, Gill has got good record too scoring 579 runs in just 12 games at an average of 57. Gill is likely to make his T20 debut in second T20I against New Zealand under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya.
