The 2nd ODI between India and Windies was played on Sunday i.e. 24th July with team india having a lead of 1-0 in the 3-match ODI series. After winning the toss Windies Captain Nicholas Pooran chose to bat first. Windies managed to score 311 runs for 6 wickets in 50 overs with the brilliant knock of Shai Hope and Captain Nicholas Pooran. Shai Hope, the wicketkeeper-batsman scored a brilliant 115(135) runs knock and Captain Pooran contributed 74 crucial runs to the team’s total.
While Team India, despite losing Captain Shikhar early, didn’t lose the momentum with well locked partnership of Gill (43) and Iyer (63).
Meanwhile Shubhman Gill got away with his wicket in a ridiculously bizzare fashion leaving the fans absolutely frustrated. Kyle Mayers came to bowl the 16th over and Gill looked to play a premeditated shot to a length delivery. The batter was firm to execute ‘Dilscoop’, introduced to the world cricket by Sri Lankan legend Tilakratne Dilshan. Gill played across to the off stump attempting the scoop, but was caught off as the ball surfaced to the cue end of the bat and went right back to the bowler.

Gill walked back to the pavilion on an easy catch smiling to his silly shot after scoring 43 off 49, with five ravishing boundaries.
Mayers picked his second wicket of the match dismissing Suryakumar Yadav for mere nine runs. Later Shreyas Iyer and Sanju Samson stitched up a match-saving Partnership of 99-runs and ended up scoring half-centuries each. Axar Patel played a quick and fierce knock of 64* runs off just 35 deliveries helping India to chase with two balls to spare and secured the three-match series for the team. India previously won the series opener on Friday by three runs. The final ODI is to be played on Wednesday , 27th of July at the same venue.
