Indian Women Team won Under-19 T20 World Cup 2023.
This was the first U-19 World Cup for women in T20 format and Indian women clinched the inaugural title and created history. This is Indian Women’s first win in Under-19 World final as they thrashed England by 7 wickets Senwes Park, Potchefstroom.
Shafali Verma who led the team to create history, got emotional during post match presentation and burst into tears. Shafali whi is also the part of Indian Women senior team, represented India in U-19 T20 World Cup and aided the team in clinching the title.
“I thought of her words when I took the field and everyday, and she keeps making me understand new things everyday. She has helped the team a lot and she is a very good coach,” a teary-eyed Shafali said in the post-match interaction with the media.
“She knows how to motivate a player and how to motivate a team. I would want to meet her again, and I am going to miss her as a coach,” Shafali said.
