Seven years have passed since Kumar Sangakkara retired from international cricket. But as they say- class is permanent, a showcase of the Sri-Lankan legend’s class has been shown recently when England ex-captain Nasser Hussain asked him to bat in the nets.
The former Sri-Lankan batsman has over 10,000 runs in both Test and ODI formats. The star-studded Sri-Lankan batting lineup was generally anchored by Kumar Sangakkara.

Years have passed but he didn’t come out of his touch. Fans get to witness one of the Sanga special drive sessions when Nasser Hussain asked him to bat against the bowling machine in the nets. He instructed the machine handler to execute the same length from where Trent Boult was trying to execute his out swingers in the Eng vs NZ series. Sanga started with some defensive punches. Then gradually started driving in his free-flowing manner. Nasser instructed to add more pace and swing in the balls but no difference from Sanga was seen. He drove those from square to square in all regions.
Fans left amazed by seeing the drives of Sanga and the video became viral in no time. His IPL team also shared the video by saying that it’s already 2022 and Sanga’s execution of those cover drives is still so perfect.
He was also seen in the Commentary panel of the test series. He seems to be much impressed with Jos Buttler and Ben Foakes. After having a mind-blowing IPL season Jos came to open the innings. Sanga believes that he might be a successful opener in Test format too. The former Sri-Lankan keeper has also recognized Ben Foakes as the best wicketkeeper in the world at this moment.
