India thrashed England in the first ODI by 10 wickets and registered a massive victory over the hosts. Captain Rohit Sharma played a flamboyant knock and led Team India to victory.

But the match was interrupted for a moment during India’s innings in 5th over when Rohit Sharma was batting against David Willey. On Willey’s delivery Rohit Sharma unleashed his favorite pull shot which went in the crowds in fine leg area. Just after Umpire lifted his hands to indicate six, the camera moved towards a little girl who was struck by Rohit’s six. She was seen getting consolidated by a man. The man was rubbing her back to minimize the pain.

The commentators Ravi Shastri & Michael Atherton confirmed that the girl is injured for real. The game halted for few minutes when players checked if everything was fine. The camera showed that couple of medic walking along the boundary line to scrutinize little girl’s condition.

Earlier, English batsmen became the prey of Bumrah’s wrath in the first innings and England registered their lowest total against India in ODI cricket. Bumrah became the first Indian pacer to take 6W haul in ODIs in England. Moreover, Rohit-Dhawan duo completed 5000 runs as ODI openers and became only the 4th duo in the world to do so after Sachin-Ganguly (6609), Gilchrist-Hayden (5372) & Desmond-Greenridge (5150).
