On Tuesday, Rohit Sharma became the first ever Indian captain to win T20 series against South Africa at home.
However, India lost the last game of the series by a margin of 49 runs while chasing 228 runs target. No India batter barring Dinesh Karthik (46* off 21 balls) stood against Proteas bowlers. From South African side, Rillie Rossouw remained the top-scorer who smacked century in just 48 balls.
During post match presentation, Rohit Sharma talked about concerns in Indian team and mentioned Suryakumar Yadav’s name. “Speaking about the concerns, Surya’s form is a bit of a concern (starts laughing).” Then Murli Kartik responded by saying “I thought it would be the least of your concerns!”
Suryakumar Yadav has been the pivotal part of Indian T20I Team. He has been the leading run-scorer Indian batter this year as well as the highest ranked Indian batter (2) in ICC T20I rankings. If India have to win World Cup title, Suryakumar Yadav’s form will be necessary.
