Pujara has been in phenomenal touch for Sussex lately. In country championship, he smacked five centuries, keeping his form in mind, he was given the responsibility of captaincy in the absence of regular captain Tom Haines.

Sussex needed 102 runs to beat their opposition in last 10 overs then Pujara took charge, in 45th over. When Liam Norwell came to bowl, Pujara amassed 22 runs in his over and completed his next 50 runs in just 22 balls.

However, Pujara’s knock was not sufficient to get over the line. Sussex fell short of 4 runs chasing 20 in last 2 overs. Sussex is currently at number 6 in Group A points table having 4 points in 4 games.
