Rishabh Pant breaks the long run of his lean patch and smashed a mind-blowing century at Edgbaston against England.
Ben Stokes opted to bowl after winning the toss. The bowlers put up a great show at the initial stage but eventually lost their way while facing Pant’s rampage.
Pant took every bowler on remand especially the spinner Jack Leach.

Pant has missed out his century on several occasions. But this time he kept his cool and got over the line. Though he didn’t leave his attacking mood in the nervous 90s. He reached his century on just 89 balls which is the fastest among the Indian wicket-keepers in Tests. He surpassed MS Dhoni to break this record. This century will be remembered by every Indian cricket fan as he came to bat in a difficult situation and put the pressure back on the England bowlers. Certainly a tremendous knock under pressure.
Pant’s one-handed six against Leach was the core attraction of his innings till now. Leach bowled a slow off-spin on which Pant stepped out and launched it over long-on. The ball sailed over 101 meters humongous six. Pant scored a total of 22 runs in that over.
India has reached a score of 303 so far. If the Pant Jadeja duo can proceed with their innings more, certainly the game would start to go far from the host’s grip.
