After Winning the ODI series against West Indies, Team India took on West Indies in the 1st T20I at the Brian Lara Stadium, Trinidad. After winning the toss, Windies chose to bowl and this time Suryakumar Yadav came as an opener with Rohit Sharma.
Suryakumar Yadav played some brilliant eye-catching shots but couldn’t stretch his innings and fall on just 24 runs. Captain Rohit Sharma started the Windies tour with a brilliant half century and contributed 64 runs for team’s total.
Apart from Rohit Sharma, no middle order batsman was able to shine with the Bat except Dinesh Karthik, who played a brilliant cameo in the first match. India lost their 6 wickets on merely 138 runs and then he put on a partnership with Ravichandran Ashwin for the 7th wicket.
During the 18th over, an incident happened that surprised everyone on the field and in the commentary box as well. On the 3rd ball of the over, Dinesh Karthik called for two runs and while running the second run ashwin was way left behind the crease. Obed McCoy collected the ball very well with both the hands but he didn’t even try to dislodge the bails. Ashwin was clearly out if he would have hit the stumps.
