Fans witness India’s two former world winning captain together at one place during US Open 2022 match.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni who led Indian team to victory in 2011 World Cup & Kapil Dev who captained India to win their first ever world Cup beating West Indies in 1983 were witnessed enjoying US open match amidst in the crown crowd at the Arthur Ashe Stadium.
Sony Sports Network, the official Broadcaster of US Open 2022 shared a video on Twitter, in which Dhoni and Kapil Dev are seen sitting in the stadium. They captioned the video “Indian cricket royalty in #USOpen. Two former India World Cup winning captains, @msdhoni and @therealkapildev graced the stand at Arthur Ashe.”
The match was played between 19-year-old Carlos Alcaraz and 21-year-old Janic Sinner. In a match that lasted for 5 sets, Alkraj defeated Sinner 6-3, 6-7, 6-7, 7-5, 6-3. However, legendary tennis stars Roger Federer, Rafel Nadal and Novak Djokovic are not the part of this tour which has surely affected the competitiveness of the tournament.
Talking about MS Dhoni, former Indian captain is relishing his time outside cricket. Couple of months ago, he was seen making his presence in 5th test between India & England. MS is all set to captain Chennai Super Kings for the upcoming season.
