A funny incident happened during the first semifinal game of T20 World Cup 2022 between Pakistan & New Zealand.
New Zealand after winning the toss opted to bat first. But they couldn’t kickstart well as their destructive opener Fin Allen dismissed in first over. Devon Conway also departed after scoring 21 runs in 20 deliveries. Later, Kane Williamson(46) & Daryl Mitchell (53) helped New Zealand to set a target of 152 runs.
While chasing, Pakistan had a great start as Babar & Rizwan made 105 runs partnership in 12.4 overs. Babar Azam (53) scored his first fifty of this tournament while Mohammed Rizwan also smacked fantastic 57 runs. Pakistan chased down the target with 5 balls to spare at the loss of 3 wickets.
In the 17th over, Trent boult bowled an off-side delivery on which Rizwan played an aerial shot but the ball could not connect well with his bat and Phillips who was standing at the boundary grabbed the catch.
But Rizwan asked Umpire if it was a no ball then he ran for a single and was coming for the double but Trent Boult ran him out at the non-striker. Hence, Rizwan got out twice on a single delivery although 3rd Umpire after checking confirmed it was not a no-ball.
