Eventually Jaydev Unadkat scalped his first ever test wicket for Team India.
It took Unadkat 12 years, six days & 179 deliveries to pick his first test wicket for India. Unadkat has played his game in test format in 2010 against South Africa in 2010 in Centurion when he remained wicketless after bowling 26 overs.
It is the longest gap between two test matches by an Indian in terms of years as well as wicket and the second-longest in the world behind England’s Gareth Batty. Unadkat got to play the second test match against Bangladesh replacing hero of the previous game Kuldeep Yadav.
But Unadkat didn’t disappoint his captain and team management as he was seen bowling with immaculate line & length and trouble both the bangladesh openers. In his 4th over, Unadkat bowled a good length delivery against which opener Hasan failed to play a cut shot and the ball hit his gloves, went in air and fell in the hands of Rahul. Hence, Unadkat got his first test cricket after the long wait of 12 years.
