Ravindra Jadeja remained India’s hero in fantastic victory against Pakistan on 28th August. Jadeja played a crucial knock of 35 runs off 29 deliveries and helped India clinch victory.
But one of the decisions taken by captain and Team Management was a matter of discussion throughout the game. Wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant who has been regular part of Team India was excluded from the match against Pakistan and Dinesh Karthik played in place of Rishabh Pant.
It was a shocking decision as Pant has never been dropped from Team India’s playing XI since 2020 from any format. However, Dinesh Karthik has performed stupendously for India in shorter format of the game. But in the match against Pakistan, Karthik got just one delivery to face so it’s all on team management now, whom do they pick in the upcoming game against Hong Kong.
Ravindra Jadeja was asked about Pant’s exclusion from the game against Pakistan, in post-match interview on which Jadeja replied that he absolutely doesn’t know this. This is a question out of his book. Jadeja also spoke about the game against Hong Kong and warned not to take them lightly.
In the last clash between India and Hong Kong, the latter put on a good fight building 174-run partnership while chasing 285 runs and almost had chased down the target but fell short of 26 runs.
