Ishan got to bat in the final ODI in the absence of regular opener Rohit Sharma who caught an injury during the last ODI. Ishan after taking Rohit’s place, did not make anyone feel his absence as he has been batting at his full extent in the game as he smacked double century in the ODI.
Ishan becomes the third 4th Indian batter to slam a double ton in ODI cricket. Jharkhand batter took just 126 innings to score his first ever double ton in ODIs and becomes the fastest ever double centurion in 50-over format. Ishan took just 41 innings to score his next 100 runs.
