Hardik Pandya led India for the first time vs Ireland on 26th June and named the first win under his captaincy. He also made a glorifying record for his name by taking a wicket in his first match as captain. He has become the first captain of India in T20Is to take a wicket in his first match.
India took on Ireland in Dublin in the 1st T20I match. The rain delayed match had started almost 2 hours after the scheduled time. Hardik won the toss and opted to field first. As of the rain delay this match was rescheduled into a 12 over match.

Bhuvneswar Kumar bowled a tight first over by conceding only 1 run and took 1 wicket. Hardik came to bowl the 2nd over but didn’t get a good start. He bowled a wide on the first ball followed by conceding a four. But on the very next ball Hardik bowls an outside off stump length ball , Paul Stirling wanted to loft it over cover. But eventually it got caught by Deepak Hooda that made Hardik the first Indian captain to take a wicket in his first game as captain.
India restricted Ireland on 108 and chased down that score easily with help of Deepak Hooda’s 47 runs and has taken the lead in the two match series by 1-0.
