Stand-in Indian captain KL Rahul fails to score big in the 3rd ODI too after getting out on a single-digit score in the 2nd ODI in the ongoing Zimbabwe series.
The stylish batter started well in the 3rd ODI and scored a well-settled 30 runs. But he took 46 balls to score those runs which again raised criticism against him for taking too much time. He only hit one boundary and a six in his innings. The Indian captain put up a 50 run stand with Shikhar Dhawan.
Zimbabwe pacer Brad Evans gave his team the breakthrough as he dismissed Rahul on the last delivery of 14 th over. It was an outside off stump length delivery on which Rahul went for a back-foot punch but the ball took the inside edge of the bat and crushed onto the stumps. Eventually, Rahul went back to the pavilion.

Indian fans were waiting for a big comeback from the star batter after recovering from injury. Rahul got injured after the IPL and missed the England series as well as West Indies series as he had to undergo surgery.
But at the last moment, KL Rahul was selected in the squad for Zimbabwe tour and got the captaincy instead of Shikhar Dhawan who was previously set to be the captain in this series. But Rahul fails big in the two opportunities he got in the series.
Before the Asia Cup, it was a massive opportunity for the batter to get back his form after coming back from injury. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be back in the continental tournament. If Rahul could also gain some confidence from this series with his bat it would be a big boost for India before appearing in the high-voltage India vs Pakistan duel in the Asia Cup on 28th August.
