The last game of Super 4 between India & Afghanistan brought out many epic and unexpected moments on the field.
Afghanistan invited India to bat first after winning the toss. Captain Rohit Sharma took rest and gave opportunity to KL to captain India. Kohli & Rahul opened the innings and built up 100-plus runs partnership. KL Rahul got out after scoring his half century but Kohli continue to dismantle Afghanistan bowling lineup and finished his innings on 122 runs.
While chasing, Afghanistan could not bear the wrath of Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Afghanistan lost their 6 wickets at the score of 21. Barring Ibrahim Zadran who was the only batsman who able to tackle Indian bowlers, no other batters stood a chance against Indian bowling.
Afghanistan needed 120 runs in the last over to win which was impossible to achieve. Seeing the unchaseable target, KL Rahul gave bowling to Dinesh Karthik in the last over. Dinesh Karthik bowled his first over in international Cricket in his 18-year-old career. However, Karthik went for 18 runs in his over. Ibrahim Zadran slammed two sixes and took 3 doubles in Karthik’s over.
