On Monday, Host Sri Lanka triumphed over Australia in the second test by a huge margin and drew 2-match test series by 1-1. Dinesh Chandimal was the hero for Sri Lanka in this massive victory.
Pat Cummins after winning the toss chose to bat first. Australia managed to score 364 runs with the help of Labuschagne & Smith’s terrific centuries. Sri Lanka in their first innings while trailing scored a mammoth total of 554 runs with the aid of Chandimal’s historic double ton. Karunaratne 86, K Mendis 85, Mathews 52 & Kamindu Mendis 61 also played an important role in setting a gigantic score.

Chandimal was batting on 185 runs when Sri Lanka had lost their 9 wickets but he did not take much time to score his double ton. He smashed a four and two sixes in Starc’s over to register the highest individual score for Sri Lanka against Australia in test cricket. One of the sixes he hit was so huge that it went out of the stadium and struck a man who was passing there.

Australia in response bundled out for just 154 while trailing and hence Sri Lanka won the Galle test. Prabhat Jayasuriya was the leading wicket-taker for Sri Lanka who picked 6W haul in the second innings. Dinesh Chandimal was given man of the match award for his sensational 206* runs.
