Indian veteran batsman Cheteshwar Pujara has returned to his county team Sussex after completing the Edgbaston test with India. But this time the core attraction didn’t come from his bat but from the ball.
Yes, Cheteshwar Pujara was seen bowling for his county club against Leicestershire. After contributing 46 runs with the bat he bowled an over. He was seen bowling leg-spin deliveries. But he went for 8 runs with no wicket.
Sussex club posted the video of Pujara’s bowling which got a lot of attention over the social media.
This is not the first time Pujara has bowled in a first class game. He bowled 251 deliveries in which he got 6 wickets. He has also bowled an over in Test cricket but couldn’t take any wicket.
Pujara had a good comeback in the Indian team against England after being dropped on the home series against Sri-Lanka. He scored a fighting half-century in the second innings of his comeback but couldn’t resist India’s defeat in the all important test match. In the next few months there aren’t as many test matches ahead in the schedule of team India.
So Pujara will definitely get time to improve his skill while playing for the Sussex club. And if he could add the bowling in his armour then it would be a new trick for the opponents.
