Virat Kohli’s 71st Hundred stunned Afghanistan in final game of Super 4 for Team India. Despite the fact that India was already out of the Finals race of Asia Cup, Virat Kohli with his batting and Bhuvneshwar Kumar with the ball were absolutely outstanding and team India didn’t give a single Chance to Afghanistan team and defeated by 101 runs.
Virat Kohli scored brilliant 122* runs off just 61 balls with 12 fours and 6 sixes. The Veteran batsman was awarded with the man of the match award as well for his majestic knock. After the game, Indian Captain Rohit Sharma sat with former captain Virat Kohli and hosted him for an interview for the BCCI Website.
Rohit began the chat with Congratulating him and said, “Today was a special day for us and with me it’s Virat Kohli. First of all many congratulations to you for your 71st hundred and all the fans were waiting for it and more than them you were waiting for that”.
Virat Kohli replied, “Obviously Rohit, Thank you very much! It was a special day for us as a team. We talked in last game that how we step up on field and this tournament was very crucial for us. We got the exposure of Knockout games and we know our goal is T20 World Cup in Australia. We will try to correct our mistakes that we did in this Asia Cup. You guys and the management gave me a clear communication that just me bat and gave me a clear space.”
Rohit Sharma said “The biggest strength of Virat Kohli is the work ethic, no matter what the situation. The form of Virat Kohli is vital for India, the moral he brings to the group and youngsters in the side is huge boost.”
