India after winning T20 series by 2-1 began the ODI series against England fiercely. Rohit Sharma after winning the toss chose to bowl first and his decision was proved to be precise when Jason Roy & Joe Root departed in the first over.
Jasprit Bumrah was the hero of Indian bowling. In his first over Bumrah bowled Jason Roy and get rid of Joe Root too on duck. The hero of England in the 5th test match, attacking batsman Jonny Bairstow had to move towards pavilion’s way after giving catch to Rishabh Pant on Bumrah’s delivery.

Even the menacing batsman Liam Livingstone could not survive Jasprit Bumrah’s wrath and became his prey. Southpaw David Willey played some good shots but eventually he gifted his wicket to Bumrah after trying to play an unorthodox shot and hence Bumrah took his 5W haul.
After bowling majestic spell of 6/19, Bumrah created few records.
- He becomes the first Indian bowler to take five-wicket haul in Oval in limited overs.
- Now he has the third best bowling figure in ODI history for India after Stuart Binny’s 6/4 and Kapil Dev’s 6/12.
- He also becomes the first Indian pacer to take 6 wickets in England in an ODI match.
England’s innings folded for 110 runs and they registered the lowest total in ODI history batting against India. Last month they created the record of highest team total against Netherlands. Apart from Bumrah’s 6-wicket-haul, Mohammad Shami took 3W haul and became the fastest Indian bowler to pick 150 ODI wickets.
