An usual incident was witness during Day 3 of the first test match between New Zealand & Pakistan.
Kiwis are taking on Pakistan in the first test match of 2-match series between Pakistan & New Zealand in Karachi. On Day 3 of the clash, Pakistan captain Babar Azam did not attend the first session and on his replace, Mohammad Rizwan was sent as a substitute.
After that, Rizwan was also seen setting fielding placements as he assumed himself to be the captain. But according to the ruled, a substitute cant bowl or lead the team but may act as a wk with the consent of the umpire.
Later, when spinner Abrar Ahmed trapped Kiwi batter Devon Conway and opted for the review as Umpire’s decision was against the bowler’s call. Then both Rizwan & Safaraz Ahmed came at a place and both of them signalled for a review. Eventually, since Sarfaraz had also opted for the review, the DRS was taken. Sarfaraz took charge of captaincy as the game progressed.
