Watch: Ben Stokes’s emotional farewell speech after his final ODI game

Ben Stokes recently retired from the One-Day Internationals , the 50-Over format of cricket and left the fans from around the world astounded as much as the former cricketers and experts.

The 31-year-old played his final ODI against South Africa. He informed about the decision through social media and explained it was ‘unsustainable’ for him to play all three formats considering the cricketing schedule of ECB and emphasised on concentrating in T20I and Test cricket.

The official social media accounts of England’s Cricket Team gave the snippets of the ambience of the dressing room while Stokes addressed his final words to the team mates.

He pleaded his teammates to keep pushing to the very extreme of athletes they are and to achieve what extraordinary they always have.
Stokes also had the kind words for the format’s Captain Jos Buttler. He reminded him of the great athlete and human being he is and further told him to have belief in himself.
He ended on an emotional note expressing his distress to not being able to play the format further more but wish the rest of lot best for their journey ahead.

The beast cricketer debuted in ODIs in 2011 against Ireland. He carried the England Men’s Team to win their First ODI world Cup in 2019. Stokes mastered a match-winning 84 runs with 110-run partnership with Jos Buttler, the current captain.
