On Friday, Pakistan captain Babar Azam was trolled brutally on twitter for speaking poor English after the second ODI against Netherlands.
In the game, Pakistan managed to thrash their opponents easily by 7 wickets with 98 balls to spare. Babar Azam again stole the show in the massive victory as he smashed 57 runs off 65 balls. But after the game, during prize distribution when Babar was called for interview, he got trolled badly for having poor hold on English Language.
During the presentation, Babar answered “It was a good effort by the fast bowlers, they bowled well with the new ball. The spinners bowled well later on, so we were happy. In the morning there was moisture on the pitch, that’s why I wanted to bowl first. The wicket was under covers yesterday, anyway credit to the pacers and the spinners. We are trying different combinations; Salman showed his class today. He played very well today, so looking forward to the next game,” the way Babar answered was not in a fluent way as he was not confident on his English speaking skills.
Babar Azam is not the only Pakistan cricketer who has a poor grasp on English language. Former cricketer Inzamam-ul-Haq & Sarfaraz Ahmed have also been seen having trouble while talking in English. However, apart from the trolls, several fans defended Babar on twitter and said that it is not necessary to speak English fluently.
