Watch – Asif Ali & Fareed Ahmed involved in a bad fight

Fans got to witness one more thrilling & nail-biting contest of Asia Cup 2022 between Pakistan & Afghanistan on Wednesday.

Pakistan after winning the toss, invited Afghanistan to bat first. Afghanistan did not have a good start as their top order walked toward pavilion cheaply. No Afghanistan batter able to crack Pakistan bowling and their innings bundled out for 129 runs. Haris Rauf took 2 wickets while rest of the bowlers picked 1 wicket each.

While chasing, Babar Azam again failed to make an impact on the game and got out on golden duck. Number 1 ranked T20 batsman Mohammad Rizwan could not contribute either and became the prey of Rashid Khan. No Pakistan batter looked comfortable against Afghanistan bowlers barring Shadab Khan who slammed 36 runs off 26 deliveries.

Pakistan needed 21 runs in 2 overs to clinch victory. Asif Ali then smashed a terrific six off Fareed Ahmed’s deliver and made the equation to 12 runs in 8 deliveries. On the fifth ball of 19th over, Fareed bowled a bouncer on which Asif Ali edged the ball and it went in the hands of fielder at short fine leg.

Fareed after taking Asif Ali’s wicket celebrated in style in front of him but Asif did not like his celebration and pushed fareed back with his hands, in response Fareed did the same, after that Asif almost whacked Fareed with his bat but Umpire and players intervened and stopped both the players from involving in fight.

Afterwards, Pakistan needed 11 runs in last over to seal victory, Naseem Shah slammed two sixes on first two deliveries of Fazalhaq Farooqi and made Pakistan win. By this victory of Pakistan, India are officially out of Asia Cup 2022. Pakistan and Sri Lanka will play the final of the tournament on 11th September.
