Russell came to bat when his team were struggling on 9 at the loss of 4 wickets as Renegades’ bowler Michale Neser scalped hat-trick and dismantled Brisbane batting lineup. In the 10th over, Nesser bowled a half-volley on which Russell showed his immense strength and dispatched the ball in the stands hitting 103-meter colossal six.
Russell slammed 57 runs in 43 balls in the game and aided his team in chasing the target with four balls to spare. Apart from Russell, captain Aaron Finch scored 31 runs off 43 balls & Akeal Hosein smacked 30 quick fire runs in 19 balls.
