A bizarre incident during the the third game of Big Bash League (BBL) 2022-23.
In the clash between the Melbourne Renegades and Brisbane Heat at the Cazaly’s Stadium, Cairns on Thursday, December 15, an usual incident happened when Melbourne Renegades’ batter Nick Maddinson was batting against Mark Steketee.
In the 9th over, Steketee bowled a bouncer in the leg-side on which Nick tried to push it towards the mid-wicket coming at the back-foot. When he played the shot, one of the bails fell down and the opposition players were shouting for out considering it a hit-wicket dismissal.
Maddinson also started walking towards the pavilion thinking that he had hit the wicket but the big screen showed that the bails fell off on its own and Maddinson resume his bat. Maddinson smashed scintillating 87 runs off 47 balls and helped his team Melbourne Renegades to win the game.
