International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed the joining of former Indian batter VVS Laxman and New Zealand all-rounder Daniel Vettori to the ICC Men’s Cricket Committee as current players’ representatives. The official ICC media released this news.

Recently, Afghanistan Working Group, and the Afghanistan Cricket Board representatives provided an update on the situation related to women’s cricket in Afghanistan to the ICC board. ICC officials will be meeting with Afghanistan Cricket board and government to discuss further regarding this matter within next few weeks.
ICC is also trying to globalise the game as Cambodia has been welcomed as the latest member. Cote D’Ivoire and Uzbekistan all receiving Associate Membership status. Cote D’Ivoire is Africa’s 21st Member while Cambodia and Uzbekistan became the 24th and 25th Members of the Asia region. ICC now has 108 members including 96 associates.
