The squad for the ODI series was announced by BCCI on Saturday and the name everyone was awaiting to see was of Virat Kohli but sadly he was not the part of the squad.
Last time Virat Kohli played an international game was against England in the ODI series. Although he couldn’t do much damage to the opposition, scoring just 16 & 17 runs in the last 2 ODIs match. After that, he took rest from the series against West Indies due to the hectic schedule.
There were speculations that Kohli might be in action in 3-match ODI series against Zimbabwe in August. Fans were eagerly waiting to witness him in Zimbabwe series but unavailability of Kohli in this series made the fans disappointed.
Now according to news agency PTI, Kohli informed BCCI that he would be available in Asia Cup which is scheduled to begin in last week of August. There will be very busy schedule in the upcoming months as India have to face Australia & South Africa in September month in ODI & T20 series and then they have to participate in T20 World Cup in Australia. That’s why Virat Kohli decided to rest to make himself fully fresh and prepared for the upcoming challenges.
