Michael Vaughan and controversies have become similar two words in the past few years. The former England player had faced heat on many occasions for his tweets. A similar incident happened on Friday when Pant was hitting the English bowlers all over the park. But this time Vaughan’s use of words became the cause of the fans’ anger.
England is taking on India in the 5th test at Edgbaston. Ben Stokes won the toss and opted to bowl first. The English bowlers gave initial breakthroughs but Rishabh Pant came to the opposite flow of this wave. He started counterattacking all the bowlers of England and smashed a mind-blowing century.

Teammates and ex-players from all over the world showered congratulations for his tremendous knock.
But Vaughan’s tweet went wrong and was interpreted differently by the fans. He tweeted that he’s glad to see Rishabh Pant is doing a Jonny Bairstow thing. Meanwhile, Bairstow played some heart-throbbing knocks in the recently concluded England vs New Zealand series. So Vaughan tried to compare them both.
But the fans got furious with this and cope him by retweeting. The point of all the fans is, that Pant has been playing these kinds of knocks for the last three years and all over the world. But Jonny only played well in one series, that too on home ground. There is no comparison between them.
Vaughan previously passed many negative comments about many Indian players. So the fans interpreted this one also differently. And mocked him for being ‘biased’. Till now no response came from the ex-English player for clarification.

Meanwhile, at the end of the day, one India reached 338/7 with Pant’s 146 and Ravindra Jadeja’s unbeaten knock of 83. If Jaddu can progress his inning on the morning of day 2, certainly the match will start to be loosened from the grip of the hosts.
