Suresh Raina retired from international cricket on 15th August, 2020 followed by the retirement of his teammate and companion Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
However, Suresh Raina continued to participate in IPL and was an integral part of Chennai Super Kings during IPL 2021 but the Southpaw batter went unsold in IPL 2022, since then he has not played any competitive cricket.
According to Dainik Jagran, Raina has informed BCCI and Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) that he will not be available to participate in IPL or any other Indian cricket league. Although he can participate in foreign leagues. For that he will need to get NOC from BCCI.
Before Raina, Yuvraj Singh also participated in foreign leagues after retiring from International cricket and IPL. Suresh Raina will start his new journey participating in Road-safety World series.
Suresh Raina has played 205 IPL matches in which he has scored more than 5500 runs at an average of 32 and scoring rate of 137. Regarded as ‘Mr IPL’ Suresh Raina has slammed 30 half fifties and one century. He has also won 4 IPL trophies playing for Chennai Super Kings.
