Indian Captain Rohit Sharma has joined the Indian limited-overs team after getting ruled out from the all-important India vs England Test Match due to Covid-19.
Ahead of the 1st T20I Rohit was introduced at the press conference and he was asked about different perspectives.
About the loss in the Edgbaston test:
Rohit replied shortly on this and said that only time will say whether the loss would affect their game in limited format or not but he admitted that it’s disappointing to not emerge as the victors.
About comeback:
Rohit replied it’s always good to be in national colours without any doubt. He doesn’t want to miss any match but some things always remain out of control. Now he is back and ready to take the challenge.
About interaction with VVS Laxman:
Rohit said that he just wanted to go through the mindset of the players as the limited-overs team had traveled to Ireland under VVS Laxman. He just wanted to catch up which he was not part of.
About plannings regarding the T20I World Cup:
Rohit cleared that his and coach Rahul Dravid’s plan is to pick a stable XI for the much-important T20 World Cup that will be played in Australia. His one eyes will always be on that.
About the T20I series against England:
The Indian captain thinks that it will be a tough challenge for them but his boys have also played quite a few matches. So they are completely ready to take on England in the T20I series.
Eventually, India will play a 3-match T20I series that is going to start from the Ageas Bowl, Southampton on 7th July. Match will start at 10:30 pm IST. The stage is set. The countdown begins to witness the run-fest.
