Virat Kohli’s 82-run inning has become a highly praiseworthy knock among cricket fraternities.
India were 31/4 when Kohli made 113-run partnership with Hardik Pandya (40) and rescued the team after a collapse. However, the partnership was not enough as India needed 28 runs in 8 balls to win the game, which was not easy to get.
But kohli smacked two scintillating sixes off Rauf’s last 2 overs and made the work easy. With this win, India’s qualification chances for semifinal have become stronger as they have to defeat Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and Netherlands to qualify.
After Kohli’s magnificent knock, former coach Ravi Shastri expressed his feeling. He said that he got emotional when it was all unfolding. He has seen what Kohli has gone through in the last couple of years. They all know the recent context. Did he have something to say to Kohli at the end? Frankly, not a thing.
They are a country with short memories; topi masters of the world! They flip, change in two minutes. Kohli knows what he feels. He know what he feels. What’s there to be said? Not a thing, Shastri added.
