India is going to play the only test match which was postponed due to Covid outbreak when the team traveled to England in the previous year. The match is going to be played at Edgbaston in Birmingham from 1st July. The Indian team currently has the lead in the series by 2-1 which means India needs to win or even draw the test match to secure the historic series win on British soil.
The Indian test squad has already landed in England and started their training in Leicestershire under the supervision of batting coach Vikram Rathour and bowling coach Paras Mhambrey. Head coach Rahul Dravid will join the rest of the squad soon along with Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer.
Special eyes on the batsmen of the team as they have to adapt to the English condition soon. Former captain Virat Kohli has been seen in a light mood in practice but in good touch. The huge fans are waiting for him to score the much-awaited 71st century. Captain Rohit Sharma has also joined the team after spending some time with family. Experienced batter Cheteshwar Pujara is confident about his success as he had a brilliant county season with Sussex club.
It’s not decided yet whether team India will play with 5 bowlers or an extra batter. Coach Rahul Dravid will decide that after the practice match. Pacer Jasprit Bumrah has joined the team after taking a break in the home series against South Africa. Other pacers Umesh Yadav, Md Shami, Md. Siraj are also grooving for the final test match.
