Left-hander Nitish Rana has been a consistent performer in Indian Premier League. After joining Kolkata Knight Riders, he has been an integral part of the franchise.
Nitish made his IPL debut in 2015 for Mumbai Indians and played for them till 2017. He has won 2 IPL trophies under the leadership of MI-led Rohit Sharma. Rana has played 91 IPL matches and have scored around 2200 runs with strike rate of 134 and average of 28.
Few months ago, he made his ODI debut on Sri Lanka tour where he played the final ODI and then, was the part of 2nd & 3rd T20I game. Since then, he has not got a chance to represent Team India. Talking about his selection in national team, Rana said that
As a cricketer, he would have of course liked another opportunity, but he does not want to give any excuses, since he did not perform up to the mark. He wants to score 500 plus runs from the next IPL season so that the selectors cannot neglect him.
The things that are in his control are to give good performances and score runs, and he is intending to improve there, he added.
