Umran Malik & Arshdeep Yadav proving themselves to be India’s ace bowlers in limited over formats.
Both Arshdeep & Umran made their debut for India this year after performing marvellously in IPL 2022. Umran made his T20 debut for India in series against Ireland in June while Arshdeep played his first game for India in T20 series against South Africa.
Arshdeep Singh was India’s top bowler in T20 World Cup in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah. He outshined both Mohammad Shami & Bhuvneshwar Kumar, bowling consistently good in powerplay as well as death overs. Umran, however, could not get the chance to play for India in Asia Cup & T20 World Cup.
But Jammu Pacer showed his potential in the ODI series against New Zealand. In the first ODI, Umran picked two crucial wickets for India. Recently, in an interview Arshdeep talked about his experience while bowling alongside Umran.
“Umran k saath mahoul kafi accha rehta hai. Usko hasi mazak kaafi pasand hai. Aur jaha tak bowling ki baat hai, Mujhe benefit mil jata hai kyuki 155 se sidha 135 jab khelne ata hai batsman toh decieve ho jata hai toh kaafi pace se. (Things are quite enjoyable with Umran around. Like me, he also likes to crack jokes. As far as bowling is concerned, I get a lot of benefits [when he’s bowling at the other end] as batters get deceived playing 135 km/h after his 155 km/h deliveries),” said Arshdeep
