In a pre-match conference of the league stage match against arch-rival Pakistan in T20 world cup up,2016 India’s Rohit Sharma addressed Mohammad Amir, one of the prime pacers of that Pakistan team as a ‘normal bowler’. Now after six-year Amir reacts to that statement and takes a sly dig at India’s present skipper.
It was a full-packed Eden Garden that was staged for much-awaited India vs Pakistan match. But the game of exchanging pressure has started much before. Md. Amir had made a great comeback that year on the international circuit and showed his form. The media created much hype about this. The media even started to compare them with the great Wasim Akram.
When in a press conference Rohit Sharma was asked by a journalist how he has prepared for Md Amir, Rohit played that question with a straight bat and said that there are five other bowlers too in the Pakistan team and there is no reason to pick only Md. Amir and take separate preparation for him. For him Md. Amir is just a normal bowler like others.
Now after six years Md Amir reacts to Rohit’s statement while giving an interview in a local media. Amir said that he didn’t take Rohit’s statement seriously and he didn’t feel bad at all as anyone can’t be everyone’s favorite. He added that he faced Rohit several times and Rohit has struggled against him every time. Still, he considers Rohit a world-class batter. So there is nothing to feel bad about.
