Team India has managed to draw the home series at 2-2 against South Africa under captain Rishabh pant. But the young star’s performance with the bat has raised questions among critics about his place in the Australia-bound flight for the T20 World Cup.
Team India has just completed the T20I home series against South Africa. But the form of captain Rishabh Pant is not admirable. He has been able to score only 58 runs in 4 innings with a below-per-average of 14.5. And his weakness of wide outside off stump delivery got exposed which made the scenario worse for the young sensation. Similar kinds of dismissals have raised questions among critics about whether he is capable to be part of the Indian squad for the T20 World cup.
However, Team India head coach Rahul Dravid has declared that Pant is an integral part of the scheme of things for the World Cup. He clarified that though pant would like to add some more runs but it’s not much of a concern as in the middle overs the batters need to gear up the innings for a big score. In this process, they might get out. So he is not on the side of judging based on only this series.
Moreover, He also added that pant had an impressive IPL season with the bat having a strike rate of 150 plus. Team India’s head coach is hopeful that pant would get back his numbers at the international level too before starting the T20 World Cup as the team has more matches to play.
Hence, Pant could be more confident with such back of a head coach. Now all eyes on this exciting young star whether he can stabilize his position for the ‘Mission Melbourne’ Squad with his performance or something heartbreaking is waiting for this young guy’s large fanbase.
