The New Zealand keeper batsman Tom Latham created some noises when his six broke a window glass in the 3rd ODI between New Zealand and Ireland .
New Zealand faced Ireland for the 3rd and last ODI of the series. The Black caps already won the series by 2-0 margin in the previous match. But all the fireworks were stored for the final match of this series .
New Zealand beat the Irish by the narrowest margin of 1 run. It was a run fest in Dublin which eventually turned into a thriller.
New Zealand put up a score of 360/6 batting first with the help of Martin Guptil’s century and Henry Nicholl’s valuable 79 runs. From Curtis Campher’s stunning run-out to Blair Tickner’s thrilling last over finish, the match had a lot of entertainment for the spectators.
But among this Tom Latham’s window breaking shot caught all the attention of the viewers. On the first ball of the 19th over Latham stepped out and sent Andy McBrine over the rope. The ball bounced once and hit straight to the window. The glass got completely cracked.
In reply Ireland could reach up to 359/9 in their 50 overs heading over a 1 run win to the visitors. Despite of Harry Tector’s (108) and Paul Starling’s (120) century knocks it was not enough for the host to cross the victory line. The T20 series will start from Monday where Ireland would surely look up to put up a great fight after getting boosted up after their tremendous performance in the 3rd ODI.
